6 Lessons to Maximize Your Time

6 Lessons to Maximize Your Time

Being busy is all the rage these days. It's like the more you have to do, the cooler and more important you are. But this is a major issue in today's society. When we are so busy running from one thing to the next, we aren't thinking clearly about where we are right NOW. We aren't consciously slowing down to ensure the path we are on is the right one to get closer to our personal and professional goals.
Why do we rush and get so busy in the first place?

Time pressure!
There never seems to be enough of it and it flies by way to quickly. We want to do more. We want to accomplish more. We want more time with our loved ones. We want more time for career goals. We just want more out of life which requires time. This means that we need to make better choices about how, where, when and with whom we want to spend our time so we reach the right goals.
Think about it - some people we meet for a moment while others are in our lives for as long as we live. Some opportunities and challenges pass quickly while others hang in our hearts and minds long term. As situations and relationships impact us, we weave them into our lives - and make time for them (or not). It's up to us to prioritize our tasks, goals and time so we make room for those things and people that are most important to us.
Below are 6 lessons that will help you embrace every moment of time spent with others and with yourself - whether it's for a long lifetime or a fleeting moment.

Stop the glorification of busy. This saying is thrown around a lot but really do it. It's not cool to be overscheduled (for you or your loved ones).
Take a moment to look around you. Where are you now and is what you're doing getting you closer to your goals?
Think about how far you've come. We've all endured struggles but survived them. Honor yourself and your ability to get through tough times.
Spend time doing and being good. Be with those who lift you up. Help others. Make better choices. Maximize the time you have and make it count.
Celebrate yourself. We are so critical of ourselves always wondering if we could or should be better. Just take a break from that kind of thinking and instead just celebrate that you are who you are - no more, no less.
Stop worrying about things that haven't even happened yet. It sucks your energy, spirit and time.
