About Inspiration

I woke up this morning thinking about inspiration. This is not something I often do as I love building things on and around the Internet as I am a geek at heart and I always have 1 to X ideas in my head that I can't wait to work on the next day. Solving a technical issue around something I am trying to create or just getting some new capability built within my own enterprise gives me no end of joy so I am always finding personal inspiration to build something new.

However, just building something does not ensure a successful business venture. You also have to get out there and do your personal "tough things" if you are to succeed - and these tough things are there as walls in front of every one. For me, it is basically showing and sharing my created content with others after building it. I have trouble mentally promoting what I create - this is where my personal inspiration wall is. My comfort zone is much more in the building of something as opposed to the sharing and/or marketing of same.

I realize we all have our motivations for doing things and some things are walls for us and we find we have to dig deep to get the tough things completed. For many, people dig deep out of necessity. They have to put food on the table for the family, pay their bills, etc. so they push themselves to work hard because they have to. They grind it out to pay the bills and take care of their families or dependents. For others, it is the thrill they get when they succeed at some aspect of something like doing a job well at work and getting recognized for it, making a sale, reaching or touching someone in some way that bring value to or improves their day, etc. and so we all push ourselves.

But what is so really special in life is when we find something that really excites us to achieve instead of having to push ourselves through the day to just get done what we need to. These moments come to all of us from time to time and it is absolutely mind-blowing what we can get done or how well we can get something done when we are "inspired". It might be that we still have to complete the same tasks, but now we are completing them with the song of inspiration in our hearts.

So while thinking about this aspect of my day ahead, I just happened to be surfing around the Internet and I came across a piece of content that literally, hit me right where I live. So much so, that it inspired me to write this post today. A post that I had, when I woke up, no intention of even creating today or any other day.

So I want to share what I found with you. Here it is:

A simple two sentences yet so very inspiring to me. What this man had built in his lifetime and the legacy he left after his passing is absolutely phenomenal. So when I think about my personal wall about reaching out to and promoting my venture to others, which is my "wall", And then I think about this one simple quote from Steve Jobs who changed the world in so many ways; well, let's just say that I found my inspiration for today!

I don't know what will excite you to achieve today, but if you are struggling at all, take a look around and you also may come across something that may hit you where you live - and your whole day can change from that moment on as well. So go find it and have a Great and Productive Day!
